Woman’s Nursing Home Death Under Investigation
September 29, 2007
The Kentucky Attorney General's office is currently investigating a death that occurred at a Louisville nursing home.
The family of the 86-year-old woman who passed away while living at the Parkway Medical Center has hired an attorney to answer their questions regarding the unexpected death.
Woman Dies from Insulin Injection
Marceline Vale was an 86-year-old woman who, according to her family, was in good health, before her health suddenly took a drastic turn for the worse.
A month after she became ill, she reportedly died from an insulin injection that she was never supposed to get.
Family Asks Questions
Vale was living at the nursing home for a little over two years until her health suddenly deteriorated and now her family is asking questions.
"They're devastated by the loss of their mother and want to get to the bottom of what happened," explained the family's attorney, Jeff Sampson.
Until the family recently took action, Parkway Medical Center wasn't able or willing to give them enough information about the Vale's death, say reports.
"Was the appropriate criminal background check performed? Were the i's dotted and t's crossed with respect to the employees? Those are all questions at this point we just don't know the answer to," says Sampson.
