Nursing Home in NY Cited for Deficiencies
March 25 , 2008
According to reports, the Eden Park Health Care Center facility in New York has been cited for the second time this year for deficiencies.
The New York State Department of Health is growing increasingly concerned about the facility and fears it could have caused harm to its residents.
Nursing Homes Fined
The DOH reportedly fined 21 nursing homes throughout New York and took action against 19 other homes in 2007 alone.
At this time, the Eden Park home was cited for giving substandard care and for jeopardizing their residents health and well-being.
Problems for Eden Park
Since the citations, the Eden Park facility in Cobleskill has reportedly been shut down.
During the investigation in 2007, the state discovered that the Cobleskill home was in “immediate jeopardy.”
However, Eden Park still has operating nursing homes in Glens Falls, Poughkeepsie, Utica and Catskill.
The DOH claims that the Eden Park facilities have a history of poor care and that consumers should be cautious of problems within the homes before thinking of moving their loved ones to a facility.
