Colorado Nursing Home Sued
June 16 , 2008
A woman has filed a suit against the Loveland Good Samaritan Society, and a doctor employed there, claiming they are responsible for her mother’s death.
The plaintiff’s mother was a resident of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society in Loveland Good Samaritan Village and reportedly became the victim of a wrongful death.
Daughter Takes Action Against Home
Helen Green filed the suit against the nursing home on behalf of her mother, Shelley Green, claiming that they properly failed to care for her.
Shelley Green was admitted to the home in July 2004 and in March developed numerous urinary tract infections.
Her daughter claims that the infections were brought on by the negligence and improper care of the staff at the home.
Woman’s Life Suddenly Taken
Shelley Green was 54 when her last urinary tract infection began to escalate and put her into a coma, which eventually cost her life.
The suit states that the doctor assigned to Shelley should have recognized the severity of the infection.
Before her death, she reportedly was experienced symptoms such as fever, chills and an increased heart rate.
The lawsuit is seeking more than $100,000 in damages.
