"Groping and Medication Theft at Kansas Nursing Home
"
The Sweet Life at Rosehill, a Shawnee, Kansas nursing home, is the site of an ongoing investigation by local police after allegations arose that a former employee inappropriately touched a female patient and may have stolen some medication from other patients.
The unnamed employee, a white male in his 40s who had worked at the facility for about a year, has been let go after the allegations were brought forward. The reports stated that the woman, in her 70s, had been touched while the employee was changing a bandage on her leg.
The medication tampering was discovered after the incident was reported this past Friday. The former employee is suspected of taking narcotics from one of the patient's locker.
A physician has given the woman a thorough physical examination, but could find no apparent injuries. The Sweet Life is a small facility and had recently passed a state safety board investigation. Costs for patients at Sweet Life are comparatively high and are as much as $150-200 per day for each patient to life there.
