" Michigan Probe Leads to Nursing Home Arrests"
In May 2005, the State of Michigan launched efforts to conduct criminal backgrounds checks of nursing home employees throughout the state. The goal is to ferret out those with criminal backgrounds that disqualify them from their jobs. So far, this investigation has led to 24 warrants and seven arrests of nursing home employees caught falsifying their job applications.

" Two Killed, 70 Injured in Michigan Nursing Home Blaze"
A fire broke out this morning in a northern Michigan nursing home, killing two patients and sending over 70 to the hospital with injuries. The Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Township, Marquette County, Michigan, was the site of the fire.

"Meth Lab Run Out of Michigan Nursing Home"
Police in Michigan are looking for an employee of The Laurels nursing home in Coldwater. The police suspect the employee of running a methamphetamine lab both at the nursing home and at his own place of residence. The unnamed suspect worked at the nursing home's skilled nursing and rehabilitation center for senior citizens.
